Nomunication with Karen-sensei
"Nomunication" comes from the Japanese verb "nomu" (to drink) and the English noun communication. In Japanese culture, it is common for colleagues and friends to build relationships over après-work drinks. A significant part of my social education in Japan happened over the course of five years packed with social gatherings and countless drinks: piping hot tea, ice cold beer, and everything in between! Pour your favorite and join me!

飲ミューニケーションへようこそ!Welcome to "Nomunication with Karen-sensei"! My name is Karen. I used to do a lot of things: lived in Japan, worked in a bilingual English-Japanese boarding school, worked as a flight attendant for a large international carrier, and now I am a first-time homeowner in Orlando, Florida. I hope you'll pull up a chair, pour your favorite drink, and join me!
